Located on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, the town of Devon first set down roots in 1947 following one of Canada's largest oil discoveries. Since then it's retained its small town atmosphere and community spirit despite being located so close to Alberta's capital city. With a population of 6,500 living in 2,000 homes, ranging from suburban-style single-family houses to quiet, secluded acreage lots surrounding the town site. 70% of the land base in Devon is dedicated to residential communities, giving Devon a friendly-atmosphere and family-first focus. Devon's proximity to the Edmonton International Airport has provided ample economic growth opportunities, and a number of Bed and Breakfast and tourism businesses have be extremely successful here.
Located only a short 15 minute drive from the city of Edmonton, residents of Devon have fast and easy access to big-city amenities and services while they live and raise their family in a small-town atmosphere.
